Sulphur, LA (December 17, 2025) – West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) has named Regina Burton, M.D., pathologist, as the recipient of the Physician of Excellence Award for the fourth quarter of 2025. This recognition is presented to a physician who consistently demonstrates exceptional clinical expertise, compassion and dedication to patients.
“Dr. Burton plays a vital role in the diagnostic process that guides patient treatment throughout our hospital and community,” said Janie Frugé, CEO of WCCH. “Her attention to detail, dedication to quality and commitment to excellence reflect the high standard of care we strive to provide. She is deeply deserving of this recognition.”
Dr. Burton says, “It is a privilege to support our physicians, nurses and patients through the diagnostic work we perform every day. Dr. Burton is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Cytopathology, Dermatopathology and Anatomic & Clinical Pathology. She holds active medical licensure in Louisiana and Texas and has been a member of the WCCH Medical Staff since 2009, providing diagnostic services through The Pathology Laboratory.
Throughout her tenure, Dr. Burton has played an integral role in ensuring timely, accurate diagnostic evaluation for WCCH, supporting both patients and physicians.
