Cancer Care
West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) offers a variety of cancer support services to meet the unique needs of cancer patients and their families, from initial discovery of an abnormality through diagnosis and treatment. Our oncology team works closely with surgeons, family medicine physicians, and other specialists to ensure that you are provided with the proper treatment, information, and resources for every aspect of your journey. WCCH is home to a specialized breast health program that consists of the area’s only certified breast health navigators who provide support, education, and one-on-one assistance in eliminating issues or barriers to care.
Once a cancerous area has been surgically removed, or sometimes before, certain types of treatment that may require a visit to a hospital or specialty cancer center may be ordered by any of the physicians that comprise our multi-disciplinary team. Patients are provided an avenue by which to receive such treatment at WCCH in a convenient, outpatient setting in our Ambulatory Preadmissions Treatment Center (APTC). Our APTC is staffed with clinical practitioners that provide many outpatient treatment services, as well as the following cancer services:
- Chemotherapy
- Infusion Therapy
- Injections
