West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) today clarified that a recent federal notice regarding hospital price transparency involved the hospital name and license number found in the header, and not the accuracy or availability of the hospital's pricing data. Importantly, the issue did not involve the hospital's pricing information. All required pricing data remained publicly available, and the information itself was accurate and compliant with federal transparency requirements.
On April 16, 2026, the hospital was notified that the name and license information associated with its federal transparency filing needed to be updated to align with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reporting requirements. Specifically, CMS requested that the filing reflect the entity name as Calcasieu Cameron Hospital Service District rather than West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, the name by which the hospital is commonly known and recognized by patients and the community.
Additionally, CMS requested that the filing use the hospital's state license number as the provider identifier. The filing had instead included the organization's tax identification number. Upon receiving notice of these reporting requirements, hospital leadership promptly submitted the requested updates to the Hospital Price Transparency (HPT) program. The revisions were accepted within days.
