“Boone was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and faces challenges with low muscle tone and delayed milestones. He began occupational therapy at the Genesis Therapeutic Riding Center when he was just three months old and has been going for a little over a year now. While he isn’t quite ready to ride yet, we love knowing hippotherapy will one day be part of his journey. For children like Boone, hippotherapy isn’t just an activity — it’s a medical treatment that strengthens core muscles, improves balance and coordination and even supports breathing. It gives kids a sense of freedom, confidence and joy that can’t be replicated in a clinic.
