Today, during a special called board meeting, the West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) Board of Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing WCCH to assume operation of Schlamp Family Medical Clinic, honoring a commitment that upholds Dr. Schlamp’s vision for his clinic.
"This action aligns with our mission to enhance the health and well-being of the communities we serve, ensuring continued access to high-quality primary healthcare services. Personally, it enables our organization to honor and fulfill Dr. Schlamp's request," stated Janie Frugé, CEO of WCCH.
Patients of Schlamp Family Medical Clinic can expect a seamless transition, with continued access to the medical professionals and services they have come to rely on and trust. The clinic will continue to staff its three nurse practitioners: Emily Scuderi, FNP-C, Maureen Poe, FNP-C and Angie Ewalt, FNP-C. The clinic will be supported by collaborating primary care physician Jody George, MD, of the Family Care Center of SWLA and member of the WCCH medical staff until Dr. J. L. Sepulvado joins Schlamp Family Medical Clinic as the primary care provider in August.
“Dr. Schlamp’s dedication to his patients and our community as a whole over the past thirty years was not only an example to his colleagues but set a standard of quality and compassionate care that, as providers, we strive to emulate," says Dr. Jody George. “We are committed to continuing his legacy of care and look forward to Dr. Sepulvado joining our community of physicians.”
The clinic will maintain its current hours of operation. Patients seeking more information about the transition or wishing to schedule appointments can call 337-527-6385 or visit sulphurfamilyclinic.com.
