Cameron LNG donates a temporary building facility to West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) to operate the Hackberry Rural Health Clinic and meet the healthcare needs of Cameron Parish residents.
“The Hackberry Rural Health Clinic of WCCH sustained significant damage as a result of wind from Hurricane Laura. Cameron LNG reached out to offer support by providing a temporary facility for WCCH to operate our rural health clinic allowing us to continue providing exceptional healthcare to the citizens of Cameron Parish,” said Jobie James, CFO of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.
In rural areas, access to health care is often limited. In an effort to increase access to care for these patients, West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital currently operates three rural health clinics, two of which are owned by WCCH and located in its primary service district. A variety of healthcare services are offered at each site, with medical care provided by nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff. Same day appointments are available.
“The clinic is a vital part of our community providing accessible quality healthcare, and our team is working to restablish services in a portable building as soon as possible,” said Stevie Trahan, Cameron LNG External Affairs manager.
“We consider providing healthcare to the citizens in our service districts: Sulphur, Carlyss, Westlake, Vinton, and Hackberry, especially in times of need, a privilege. We are grateful for industry partners, like Cameron LNG, for their ongoing support of our mission,” said Tressie Brunson, Director of Physician Management Services of the West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital.
