Ultrasound Technologists use imaging equipment that non-invasively emits sound waves directed towards internal organs, blood vessels, tissues and other structures. An ultrasound technologist job description entails using this specialized technology but can also assist the Radiologist in interpreting these images and assisting the rest of the healthcare team.
High school graduate. Minimum of two years training in a School of Radiologic Technology program and /or a degree in college. Must be Registered by the American Registry Radiologic Technology (ultrasound) and Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Radiologic Technology and/or Licensed by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
