Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Hackberry/Vinton Clincs) Full Time

Description

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a skilled health care provider who applies the nursing process to assess, diagnose,and treat individuals with psychiatric disorders and identify risk factors for such disorders and provides continuous and comprehensive services necessary for the promotion of optimal mental health, prevention of psychiatric disorders and health maintenance to patients. These functions are performed as allowed under the State of Louisiana Nurse Practice Act.

Educational Requirements:

• Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nursing Program
• Graduate of an Accredited Masters of Science Program specializing in psychiatric health care.
• CPR Certification (required within 30 days of employment)
• ACLS Certification (required within 30 days of employment)

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, preferable in a hospital or physician office setting.
• Maintain license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Louisiana.
• Maintains current board certification as PMHNP by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Proficient in skills associated with position and competent in operation of all equipment and instrumentation used in day-to-day operation of the medical clinic.
