The Food Service Aide assumes the responsibility for performing a variety of tasks related to the preparation, assembly, distribution, pick-up and clean-up of patient’s and visitor’s meal trays. Responsible for serving attractive, well garnished, and well organized patient trays with the utmost accuracy and speed. Maintains proper food temperatures consistently and dissembles and cleans trayline.
High school or equivalent required. Knowledge of proper body mechanics desirable; Must have the ability to read, write and follow instructions both verbally and written; Requires knowledge of and skills to operate kitchen equipment and the effective use of cleaning agents; knowledge of customer relations desirable; must have knowledge of emergency procedures, particularly in the event of a fire; knowledge of Health Department Standards required.
Previous food service experience helpful; Hospital/health care setting preferred.
