West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital Auxiliary Donates Money To Hospital For Land Purchase - Thursday, August 19, 2010

West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital received a donation in the amount of $44,000 from the hospital's Auxiliary to assist the hospital in a land purchase. Earlier this year, the hospital entered negotiations with Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church for the acquisition of a portion of land located near the hospital's new addition on Stelly Lane in Sulphur. While the hospital obtained the parcel of land on Stelly Lane, the church procured land adjacent to their existing parking lot on Cypress Street.

Founded in 1973, the Auxiliary of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital is an organization that serves to increase and broaden the hospital's service to patients. Auxiliary volunteers are stationed at various locations throughout the hospital to assist patients with way finding, general information and assistance in waiting areas. Over the years, the efforts and monetary donations of the Auxiliary have allowed for the creation of a meditation garden as well as updated technology and equipment for multiple departments.

For more information about the Auxiliary of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, or how to become a member, please call 527-4144. Volunteers are required to serve at least 100 hours per year.
