Local Fifth Grader WIns Poster Art Contest - Friday, July 23, 2010

To celebrate the opening of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital's new wing, the hospital recently invited all area third, fourth and fifth graders to participate in a poster art contest entitled "What My Hospital Means To Me.” Of the numerous entries received, Tristan Baggett, a local fifth grade student, was named as the winner of the contest.

According to Karen Lambert, director of marketing at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, Tristan's depiction of the hospital fit perfectly with what the judges were looking for. "Tristan's ability to capture the true culture of our hospital with his entry was astonishing. While there were many creative entries, we knew early on that his creation was the right pick,” said Lambert. Entries were judged on the student's adherence to the chosen theme, creativity, originality, and artistic appeal of their creation.
