Respiratory Care is an allied health profession which utilizes scientific principles, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory, circulatory, and associated disorders through treatment of the disorder and the promotion of healthy cardiopulmonary function. It is a highly technical skill directed towards assisting physicians in the treatment of their patients. Licensed Respiratory Therapists provide service to patients in a variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient and home care.

The accredited Respiratory Care Department performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures designed to identify and treat alterations of gas exchange within the cardiopulmonary system. These therapists are able to offer care and education to patients with lung problems such as COPD, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, or multi-systemic disorders which originated from some other pathological condition.
